The most important communication technology to study. . .

Is. . .the internet. It is immensely popular, and only seems to growing in popularity. One can access the internet from almost anywhere, and not just with a computer. One can use their cell phone to access it as well.
Almost everything is online these days. Everyone (most people, and most if not all companies) have a website. One can check their bank account online, pay bills online, even order pizza online! Not to mention keep in contact with most or all of their friends.
We use the internet in so many ways now that we did not use several years ago. Can you remember a time when you didn't have the internet? When you didn't use email to get in contact with someone instead of writing a regular letter?
The internet is especially huge with college students and other people our age. We use it to check our email, check our Facebook pages, get in contact with our professors, do research, and some of us may use to order pizza.
It's a big part of our daily lives. If the internet were to suddenly disappear, where would we be? I think a very good portion of us wouldn't know what to do with ourselves. We would be, as the expression goes, running around like chickens with our heads cut off.
The internet has advanced greatly in the past few years, and can only continue to do so. It is well worth studying.

The most important communication technology practice that we should be studying; without a doubt is the internet. What makes the internet so remarkable is that it has no limits. What started as a network system has now evolved into a chaotic teenager on the Jerry Springer show. The internet is so common and widely used that it is fair to say it engulfs us in our daily lives. Currently the internet allows users to browse the web, join in on multiplayer games, buy merchandise online, and even buy groceries. When it became widely available to the public, I don’t think anyone realized the life altering effect it would have on the world. The internet still remains an untapped resource open to be shaped and molded by any creative mind that has initiative. If one were to distance themselves from technological devices for a short period, they would see that slowly but surely the internet is being integrated into numerous aspects in our daily lives. Television sets are becoming obsolete and are being replaced by internet accessible monitors. Nightly news and newspapers now can be viewed on the internet, now users can experience up to date information like never before. Even the smallest tasks such as balancing a checkbook are becoming extinct by creation of online banking. The internet will only continue to grow and expand beyond anyone’s control, and unless we become versed and educated in the practices of the net we will all be left behind.

I agree, life altering it is! It is interesting how you mentioned all the tasks that are becoming obsolete and in theory it sounds like b/c they are on-line it would make our lives easier...but I find that the more things we do on-line the more hectic our lives get. Thoughts?
