I am having difficulties.

Communication technologies are constantly changing and becoming more advanced for that matter. Five years ago, who would have thought one of the most heavily used internet sites would be Facebook? And everyday Facebook is becoming more and more advanced, in pretty much every way possible, who knows where it will be in five years…

I think this type of communication technology is the most important that we could study. Sites such as Facebook and My Space, among others, allow people to connect and share information, all kinds of information; videos, news, adds, pictures, music, web links, political thoughts and articles, a person is even able to find and chat with someone from anywhere on earth instantly. Thoughts are highly influenced by others and I think with communication technologies such as these, information spreads faster and easier. It is important to study how to use these technology sources and how they shape and persuade the world.

I am also having difficulties, Epley.

Most if not all technological technologies and practices can be likened to a double-edged sword. This can't be more eloquently observed in the Internet as a whole and how it is being used and abused by the global society.

First the pros. Most people give their thanks to whatever little nerd tinkerer that invented the Internet, that which turned a computer into something more than a paperweight. Communication is instant between people around the world, and the other communication mediums are now being infused into the Internet.

But the two benefits that I have just presented show the cons. Easy communication means that the wrong people can start communicating together (Ex: molesters to children). The infusion of mediums can be detrimental to the existences of TV, radio, and newspapers. As the Internet slowly sucks these things in too, people will be at odds over which way to get their information, which could become corrupted at the push of a button.

I guess I should take an internet blogging class because I can't figure this out...

and THAT'S why I beleive the internet is the most important communication technologies we have today, well that and a number of other good reason that don't make me out to look stupid.
You always hear people talk about how the world is getting smaller, and although scientists have proved in fact that the world is growing larger... they are still correct but in a different way. It is literally the one device that makes you able to communicate with anyone across the world in the easiest possible way. Plus, a number of other units of media now include the internet including cell phones and game consoles and that zune thing if im not mistaken. Nowhere else is there such a large forum of people that can collaborate on one thing than on the internet.
The only next logical step in the whole shabang is to connect our bodies themselves to the internet. A day I both fear and welcome and we probably aren't too far off. Because let's face it, as humans, we want ourselves to be the best communication technology, not a machine.
